Camille and Stuie

Camille Te Nahu (Gisborne, NZ) and Stuart (Stuie) French (Tasmania, Australia) are one of the hottest duos in Australian country music and they are about to release their new album called “Big days & little years”.

“Stuie and Camille are one of those double acts that transcend the considerable sum of their individual talents. With Stuie’s prodigious talents on the guitar, and Camille’s sublime vocals, listening to them perform together is a memorable and moving experience.”~ Susan Jarvis, Capital News and ABC Radio’s Saturday Night Country

They released a new album in August 2008 titled the Kindy Sessions. Their recent albums “Recovered” (2007) and “Not Without You” (2005) earned them Duo Of The Year, Instrumental and Female Vocal Of The Year awards from various respected Australian/N.Z. associations.

“Camille and Stuie play real, honest music. The type that makes you smile. Camille is a beautiful, heartfelt singer and Stuie is in my mind one of the finest guitar players in the world. Together they are a pleasure to listen to and are two of the greatest people you could ever wish to meet. ~ Kym Warner- The Greencards

Stuie French has long been one of Australia’s finest guitar pickers, touring and recording with all the stars of Australian country music as well as touring with his own band, the Feral Swing Katz.

In 2008 while in New York City they got to meet and play with legend Les Paul at the Iridium Jazz Club at his weekly gig there.

“He is by far the best electric player I’ve seen in Australia and most other places, and his wife sure can sing, but she’s not as good on guitar”~ Redd Volkaert

Camille Te Nahu, with a voice as smooth as velvet, was the backing singer of choice (Kasey Chambers, Gina Jeffreys, Beccy Cole) before launching her own successful career.

“Camille has a million dollar voice – we’re lucky to have her in Australia” ~ Kasey Chambers

Together, Camille and Stuie mix jazz, country and popular ballads with sassy duets. Camille’s beautiful voice is complemented by Stuie’s stellar guitar work.

So if you take a bit from Les Paul + Mary Ford, Chet Atkins, Anne Murray, Merle Haggard and KD Lang, you have a taste of what Camille and Stuie have to offer.
