The Manfreds

Top British R&B band MANFRED MANN scored their 1st UK Top 10 hit in 1964 with
5-4-3-2-1, which became the signature tune for Britain’s popular music TV show “READY STEADY GO”. Further hits followed with DO WAH DIDDY, SHA LA LA, IF YOU GOTTA GO, and PRETTY FLAMINGO.

When lead singer Paul Jones left to pursue a solo career in 1966, he was replaced by Mike d’Abo, and with this new line-up MANFRED MANN scored some of their biggest European hits . . . such as HA! HA! SAID THE CLOWN, MIGHTY QUINN, FOX ON THE RUN, and MY NAME IS JACK to name but a few.

When the group disbanded in 1969, several members pursued individual music careers until they reformed as THE MANFREDS in 1992.

Today, THE MANFREDS’ musical reputation is unrivalled – not only do they enjoy massive worldwide popularity, but they retain many original members from the 1960s line-up, including Mike Hugg and Tom McGuinness, who are joined by Rob Townsend (ex Family) on drums, Marcus Cliffe on bass and Simon Currie on saxaphone/flute.
