ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Mike Carr

Mike Carr is one of Australia’s most celebrated songwriters and performers.

As a songwriter he is right up there with the best, having written and co- written some of the most popular Australian country songs of the past 10 years. These include THE ANZAC, New England Highway and Get Loud (Adam Brand), Real People (Melinda Schneider) and It don’t buy you love (Mcalister Kemp) just to name a few. He is the winner of 2 Golden Guitar Awards.

As an artist, his self titled debut album, released in 2003, yielded the singles While the Wife’s Away, Up on His Shoulders while his follow up album, in 2007 Legend produced the hit song She’s Gone.

In 2008 Mike created the comedy character Buddy Goode and was signed to ABC/Universal Music. His 2nd album The One and Only Buddy Goode was nominated for Best Comedy Album at the 2011 ARIA Awards.

In 2012 his 3rd release Unappropriate won the ARIA for best comedy album.

In 2014 his 4th release It’s a Buddy Goode Christmas also took out the ARIA for “Best Comedy Release”.

In 2013 Mike signed with ABC publishing and continues to have great success in the country genre.Waiting on a bus by Kaylens Rain went top 10 and in late 2013, Believe by Aleyce Symmonds along with Little Bit Smalltown by Kaylee Bell that was a finalist in the 2014 International Songwriting Competition.

The song Hard Work written with Drew Mcalister also featured in VIVID 2015 in Sydney.

In the same year Mike became an integral part of the Adam Brand & the Outlaws who toured nationally and had great succes. The band so far has attained two #1 hits along with a 2016 CMC nomination for best band.

Mike Carr is an integral artist on board Cruisin’ Country, and also having Buddy Goode as a crowd favourite, we can’t wait to have them both back on board Cruisin’ Country for Super Cruise 2021, sailing from Sydney for 7 incredible nights 23-30th November 2021.
